Compression ring: Located in the groove at the top of the piston, it mainly serves as a seal and conducts heat.
Oil control ring: located in the groove at the bottom of the piston, mainly used to control the supply and recovery of lubricating oil, as well as prevent gas from entering the piston suspension area.
Product Principle
The piston rings also help reduce friction between the piston and the cylinder wall. When the piston reciprocates up and down, it is in close contact with the cylinder wall. Without the presence of piston rings, direct metal to metal friction can lead to energy loss and excessive wear.
The piston ring can balance the temperature of the piston surface, reduce thermal stress and heat loss. Guide lubricating oil and coolant to the friction surface by setting corresponding grooves and gaps.
The piston ring is generally composed of several rings, closely connected on both sides. Common structures include oil rings, oil control rings, and upper and lower spiral grooves. The piston rings with different structures undertake different functions, such as sealing the cylinder, conducting heat, lubricating, etc.
