Pre installation cleaning work: Before installing a new piston ring, thoroughly clean the piston groove and piston surface. Remove dirt, oil stains, and other debris to ensure proper insertion and movement of the piston rings. At the same time, ensure the use of clean tools and gloves to avoid contamination of piston rings and related components.
The piston ring also has the function of guiding the piston to move on the cylinder wall, ensuring the stability and accuracy of the piston. Through close contact with the cylinder wall, the piston ring limits the axial and radial displacement of the piston, preventing it from deviating from its normal motion trajector
Clean the piston groove:
Use tools such as a scraper to clean carbon deposits and dirt from the piston groove.
Gently grind the surface of the piston groove with sandpaper or a grinding tool to ensure a smooth surface.
Install new piston rings:
Before installation, ensure that the new piston ring matches the piston and carefully check its condition.
Use piston ring pliers to carefully place the piston ring into the piston groove, ensuring that the opening of the ring is correctly aligned.
Lubrication and assembly:
Apply a small layer of lubricating oil between the piston ring and piston groove to reduce friction and promote sealing effect.
Reinstall the piston onto the connecting rod and connect other engine components in the correct order.
